Um Jeito de Corpo: A firework of Brazilian savoir vivre on the stage of Vienna’s Burgtheater!
Caetano Veloso is one of the brightest stars in Brazil’s musical firmament. His trademarks are: the poetry and music of Tropicalismo, his intense, soft voice and rock-solid political beliefs. The latter landed him in prison fifty years ago, and later he was exiled. In a piece named after his song Jeito de Corpo (A Way of the Body), the Balé da Cidade de São Paulo – of which ImPulsTanz co-founder Ismael Ivo is currently director – celebrates its 50th anniversary by shedding light on the poetic universe of the 76-year-old star of international renown. The vibrant and sensual piece with more than 30 highly energetic dancers on stage was choreographed by Morena Nascimento, famously a dancer of Pina Bausch’s company.
