There is something that goes beyond environmental protection: a rational and emotional understanding of the extent to which all that is living on this planet is connected to its survival space. Ismael Ivo has this kind of understanding. He translates it into the emotional symbols of dance so as to convey it directly from one body to another, thereby making it palpable. “My body”, he says, “has always been political”. Now he urgently asks: “What are we doing to the ecological system?” In this dance Ivo shows what happens when this question is “inhaled” and circulates inside the body. It is his appeal for a new beginning.
