Lost and Found: Developing a personal practice
Our goal for each of the participant is to recognize what s/he wants to do and to find a way to do it.
Questions guiding us in our investigation are: When are you dancing? When are you performing? Whose dance is it? What is technique? Whose technique is it? Whose performance is it?
Lost things are lost because we look for them where we are sure they ought to be. In this workshop we will turn this logic around looking where we are sure that dance, technique and performance are definitely not.
We will experiment with dancing in order to develop a personal practice. This project will invite the participants to be active and participatory rather than a lot of talking. We will use open improvisation, partnering, simple scores and some anatomical work.
