Solo-Tanz
„Miracles only come through work“
"There are many forming steps on the way to unity of creation and dancer, creator/choreographer"

With her intense coaching Susanne Linke ist supporting and challenging the autonomy of each person. Everybody will contineously work on a prepared solo meaning mainly clarifications which transform a „big idea“ into a mentally consistent concept, mostly by repeated reductions. Every step in the work is partially an artistic self-determination, a decision for a topic. Every participant will concentrate on her/his solo, will work very hard learning about precision in every detail. Precision of the body does not exist in itself, but comes from a crisp idea. To keep the balance between flexibility in the process and following clearly an idea without locking yourself in is an important yet difficult part of the artistic creation.
With her innovative development of the expressive solo dance Susanne Linke is wellknown as one of the protagonists of German Tanztheater. She built up a new Folkwang Tanzsstudio over 10 years choreographing numerous pieces for the ensemble. Since 1981 she has worked as a soloist. From 1994 to 2000 she directed Bremer Tanztheater. 2000 and 2001 Susanne Linke has been a foundation member of the Choreographic Centre Essen and its designated artistic director. Several times she has been guestchoreographer of Nederland Dans Theater and José Limon Company. These days she is living as an independant choreographer in Berlin.
