in the framework of the Austrian EU Council Presidency
in cooperation with the Arts Division of the Federal Chancellery

To present Austria‘s cultural diversity to a wide audience during its EU Council Presidency, several cultural events with respect to Austria take place in Brussels in the first semester of 2006. In this context one focus is to be seen in the invitation of the Arts Division of the Austrian Federal Chancellery to present some chosen works of Austrian contemporary dance. In cooperation with Palais des Beaux Arts and the renowned Kaaitheater, ImPulsTanz - Vienna International Dance Festival present some exclusive productions of Austria‘s Dance Scene.

Dance Austria AT Brussels (February - June 2006) will start on February 17 with Christine Gaigg / 2nd Nature‘s "Sacre Material", liquid loft / Chris Haring‘s "kind of heroes" and Cie. Willie Dorner‘s "threeseconds / no credits". Furthermore on June 14, dans.kias / Saskia Hölbling performs "Weiße Tage" followed by artificial horizon / Milli Bitterli‘s "Dissipating I" on June 16 and 17.

The cultural program within the framework of the Austrian EU Council Presidency will culminate in the gala performance at Kaaitheater. The coproduction of Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum Salzburg, Szene Salzburg and ImPulsTanz shows pianist Alexander Lonquich, who presents the piece "Mozart Choreographies" in collaboration with the choreographers Philipp Gehmacher, Salva Sanchis and Johanne Saunier.
