Who is this figure whose projected body is set in a frame? Has it been robbed of its physicality? And how are we to regard its movements in this fluctuating shift of painting, video art and choreography? The installation On Orientations | Shifting the burden is a collaboration between Berlin-based video artist Anne Quirynen and Austrian choreographer and performer Ian Kaler. Me becoming myself (unfinished), on the other hand, is a double projection co-created by Kaler and voice coach Marian Hudek, in which they examine voicing and voice work as physical (learning) processes. The video work humorously depicts the processes of trying out, of appropriating and embodying as a fragile and at the same time empowering balancing act.
