Low Pieces

The audience enters a different world. The hectic pace remains outside, and the stage radiates utter peacefulness. A herd of animals is resting gracefully in the sun, then again fine trees are swaying in the soft wind. And the naked dancers are composing these scenes like tableaux vivants. In his “Low Pieces”, the influential French choreographer Xavier Le Roy plays with the audience’s senses and with the perception of bodies as animal, vegetable and mechanical phenomena. In the process, the theatre transforms into a social space in which peculiar hybrids are created who invite us to take a fresh look on what it means to be human.
