Extra miniaturist, but also extra atmospheric is the solo version of Trajal Harrell’s “Twenty Looks”. Watch the choreographer up-close as a dancer who reformulates the minimalism of the 1960ies in this intimate, sensitive one-man piece. Velvety darkness, small, subdued standard lamps, a touching text and an apron with large floral print combine to make (XS) a very special emotional experience.
Duration: approx. 25 min.
In his brillant six-part project the New York based choreographer Trajal Harrell brings together what was not meant to be together at its time: The queer voguing ball scene from Harlem and the groundbreaking postmodern dancers of the Judson Church Dance Theater. For the very first time, the entire series is being presented now – from (XS) to (M2M) – "Made to Measure"!
