Two god-like figures in frames of light. Bathed in mystical light and naked like Greek marble statues, François Chaignaud and Marie-Caroline Hominal do something that the old Hellenes would have delighted in: they keep hula hoops circling around their hips like Saturn’s rings. They thus create a seemingly unreal atmosphere, somewhere between arousal and gender play, with echoes of the sexual revolution and philosophical minimalism. Maybe these countesses come from another planet. Or are they Sufi dancers from the future?
