(BIG GIRLS DO BIG THINGS)
An expedition to the surface-oriented world of a performer: in Eleanor Bauer’s solo that which should be shouted out is whispered, and that which should be whispered is sung. An empty promise, a preventative lament, a flirt with expectations. A piece about scale, volume and extreme limits, about sublimity and vulnerability, about overestimation of one’s own abilities and humility, about visibility and delicacy.
„Trough surrender to the theater and its discontents, in (BIG GIRLS DO BIG THINGS), self-expression drops the self and expression takes over“.
Eleanor Bauer
Eleanor Bauer studied at the Tisch School of the Arts in New York and at P.A.R.T.S. in Brussels. She has been creating her own works since 2005 and has danced for Trisha Brown, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Mette Ingvartsen.
