~~~O oui~~~ This is going to be a piece with words because he loves words, says Benoît Lachambre. Saying “I love you” – with these words, as the language offers them. And yet the artist wants to find a language behind these words, one that is different, that goes deeper – a critical language “that a cultivated ear either cannot understand or cannot even perceive”. “~~~O oui~~~” is the title of this latest work by the Canadian choreographer keen to experiment, which will be first performed at ImPulsTanz 2010. Lachambre recently collaborated with Louise Lecavalier on “Is You Me”. After almost thirty years of resolute work, always ready to take risks, he has become a symbol of his country’s dance scene. He is also a regular guest at international festivals and symposiums as well as research projects. In “~~~O oui~~~”, he will enter into an intense discussion of words and movements with the experienced dancer and actress Annik Hamel and the film actress and theatre director Céline Bonnier.
