"Posing Project" A pose is something one assumes or strikes. Posing means to stand effectively. The dancers of choreographer Chris Haring’s highly successful Austrian company “liquid loft” show us how this works. For example, as “The Art of Wow” and “The Art of Seduction”. Haring’s “Posing Project”, the second part of which was awarded the Golden Lion at the Biennale di Venezia last year, now conveys the whole alphabet of posing – with a brand new third part, ironically called “The Art of Garfunkel”. And with an installation in the project space of Kunsthalle Wien: “The Art of Garfunkel – Sound of Silence”. The piece presents the seductive posers of “liquid loft” consequently revealing the art of image cultivation of the self and its consequences on the targets/target groups by means of exaggeration, emphasis and disclosure of the methods of posing. All that in a rather cool and sexy manner, with an overwhelming presence of bodies throwing themselves into the elaborate business of representation as highly versatile covers of themselves.
