PROGRAMME
In 2017, they already collaborated for Romances inciertos, un autre Orlando, which was celebrated at ImPulsTanz in the following year. Now, for this brand-new work, director Nina Laisné brings together dancer-choreographer François Chaignaud with famous Argentinian singer Nadia Larcher and six wonderful musicians live on stage to explore the richness of South American Dance – with zambas, chacareras and huanyos.
Último Helecho emerges at the crossroads of South American mythologies and beliefs linked to underground worlds. Amidst a mineral landscape, bodies imbued with the spirit of the Sibyls awaken to the sound of sackbuts and transform, guided by the breath of the bandoneon. Together, they bring to life a sensual phantasmagoria, where mysterious depths meet flamboyant vitality and South American music intertwines with the remnants of a vanished baroque world. Sensual and full of expression, this utopian performance brings little-known repertoires to European ears and unveils the full poetic and resistant power of these folk traditions.
With the support of the Institut français à Paris and the Institut français d’Autriche.
