A public confession, an intimate dive into the depths of the self and at the same time a rebellion against the vulgar unpacking of narcissistic self-promoters. This is Confession Publique, a solo developed by multidisciplinary artist Mélanie Demers. It was never performed publicly until performer and singer – and this year’s ATLAS mentor – Angélique Willkie finally championed it. Demers transferred this emotive, deeply personal and political work for her, in which unflinching introspection leads to depictions of the secret and private, of abysses and inner swamps.
