As of now, tickets for the performances at Burgtheater and Volkstheater are available. They include big names such as William Kentridge, Dada Masilo, Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Wim Vandekeybus and Jérôme Bel, as well as Alexander Vantournhout, who wowed the ImPulsTanz audience for the first time in 2023, and the Korea National Contemporary Dance Company with a choreography by Kim Sungyong, which will be performing in Vienna for the first time. Tickets for all other productions will be available from 12 June.

French choreographer Maud Le Pladec can be seen for the first time at ImPulsTanz with her piece Silent Legacy, in which 11-year-old Adeline Kerry Cruz and her mentor Jr Maddripp, who also teaches a workshop this year, take Krump to the stage. With Make Banana Cry, Andrew Tay and Stephen Thompson playfully and critically reckon with the Western concept of ‘being Asian’. And Lucy Guerin is a guest with a double feature of Split and How To Be Us.

On 30 May, Public Moves starts in Carinthia – daily classes at Landhaushof including African dances, hip hop, yoga, contemporary dance and much more. Thanks to the increased focus on accessibility, everyone can gain new or deepened impressions together with artists like Daybee Dorzile aka Daybee Dee, Mani Obeya, Lenio Kaklea or Ziya Azazi. On 3 June Leonie Humitsch’s class Every.Body.Pleasure will also be translated into Austrian Sign Language (ÖGS) from 17:00 to 19:00. Until May 31, there is a 20 euro early bird discount on the first booked workshop. For example, you can dive into the rich diversity of social dances from the African diaspora in Aisha Comissiong’s open-level workshop Afro-Caribbean Rhythmic Explosion. With Eva-Maria Schaller in Counter Technique, you can learn to improve your freedom of movement and coordination by stabilizing and supporting the body through conscious counter-movements. And RubberLegz, who is new to ImPulsTanz, showcases Contemporary Street with a lot of flexibility and fluid movements.

On 16 May, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui was awarded the Ultima Prize for general cultural merit by the province of Flanders for his complete works. The choreographer from Antwerp will present the Austrian premiere of his work 3S at ImPulsTanz 2024. Cherkaoui's 23-year career as a professional dancer includes more than 50 original choreographies, a Prix Benois de la Danse, two Olivier Awards, the Flemish Performing Arts Prize and three Choreographer of the Year titles from Tanz Magazine.
