Who is Emmanuel ‘Mani’ Obeya? Willi Dorner, a fixture of the Viennese dance scene, had long conversations with Obeya, which evolved into this solo for the Nigerian born dancer, singer songwriter and choreographer educated in the UK. Obeya has had an outstanding career as a dancer, including as a soloist with Liz King at Volksoper Vienna and as a guest dancer for the Forsythe Company. As a singer, he is famous for his work with Viennese band Sofa Surfers. He currently performs in Doris Uhlich’s Gootopia and has celebrated international successes with his own works.
