The pose is the opposite of attitude. It is supposed to convince and seduce, sometimes even overwhelm, and in doing so best create a stereotype that is imprinted in the perception of the counterpart. The addressees of poses should believe that their expectations are fully met or even overfulfilled. Liquid Loft's Posing Project B – The Art of Seduction is made of this material, and so sensuously so that the piece was awarded the Golden Lion at the 2007 Biennale di Venezia. Now, 13 years later, it is clear that this irony of everyday communication has lost none of its topicality. On the contrary. The fluffing up has become a social must, which is needed to have the right effect: to appear erotic, indispensable or otherwise desirable. The performers demonstrate all this in a lavish way. With stilted movements, accentuated hip-but-chest banter, melting looks and rich music. Here the art of seduction itself is revealed and shows its true form.
