Words are dancing through space but they do not form a drama. Instead, they take the audience on a journey through three lives. This, in turn, results in something quite unlike a psychologising drama. And this something is a balancing act of language, of space and of objects. Philipp Gehmacher, Jen Rosenblit and Gérald Kurdian use all of this to challenge our cultural ideas of what a biography ought to be. The Viennese choreographer, the New York-and-Berlin-based performer and the French musician-artist relate thoughts and experiences, wrap themselves in colourful blankets and are in the company of pictures waiting to be looked at. Together, the performers unfold a text that connects them as a product of their collaborative work and at the same time emphasizes their distinctness. Biographies and identities cannot be objectivised. They are intuitive, abstract, sensory and real, they are outlined and dissolve in moments without the respective others’ attention.
