Only seven are saved. They are from Asia, Russia, the Arab world, America, England, Italy and Liège in Wallonia, and have survived the destruction of the habitable world in a kind of shelter. Belgian star choreographer Wim Vandekeybus has beamed himself into the world of science fiction with this physical theatre that brims with tension. The suggestive forces of faith are at work there. The mockumentary blends the future, the past and the present as well as Buddhism, Islam and Christianity. What they have in common: whenever the situation becomes critical, false preachers or prophets appear, and, lo and behold, their manipulations attract throngs of followers. The same is true for this story: the survivors follow a childlike messiah. They become immortal. But their rescue turns out to be deceptive. In the isolation of the shelter, conflicts break out among the all too human anti-heroes, and the question arises why they of all people are the “chosen” ones.
