Summer, sun, wit and wishes. A boisterous little group of young people amusing themselves in a tapestry fantasy landscape. Small offenses and shows of vanity add to the fun in Mark Tompkins’ choreography of “RemiXamor”. But as soon as the ease of the eight dancers lets up, loneliness and hot-blooded fantasies emerge. A woman strips off her clothes and lets loose her wild imagination. The choreographer himself appears as a contemplative Chanson singer in the enigmatic semidarkness – reminding us of our mortality. High spirits and melancholy, mixed feeling and spontaneous flare ups are threaded through the provocative music of Nuno Rebelo, who tempers the emotional roller coasters of the very individualistic performers. “RemiXamor” is a well deliberated composition portraying the kitsch of exuberance and the poetry of sobriety.
