Kresnik paints a powerful portrait of “Goya” on a somber stage: a “femme fatale” in red high heels, men with axes, a protagonist portrayed by five different dancers, a cross between a gas guzzling plastic car and a goat, a crucified man being fed a hamburger. In a thick procession of disastrous stirred up images, Kresnik presents Goya’s transformation from a court painter to a stern critic of society and finally to a deaf visionary.
