Who could be more intimately connected than twins who have shared their mother’s belly, are similar in many ways, and even have the same passion for dancing as Kristina and Sadé Alleyne? The multi-award-winning Londoners with a Caribbean family background have been creating choreographies for their company Alleyne Dance since 2014, captivating audiences with powerful pieces influenced by Kathak, HipHop, West African and Caribbean dance styles. In this duet, they reflect on their common ground but also on what may separate them from each other, as they each need to live out their individual personalities. A rotating glass box serves as a symbol of this complex relationship: it holds the two sisters together and slides between them like a wall.
