PROGRAMME
How do the mysterious towers of the ancient Sardinian Nuraghe culture match with this encounter? Meg Stuart and Francisco Camacho have toured the island of Sardinia for their intimate and enigmatic duet. The result – stealing each other away “for a moment” – is an expedition into their friendship of 35 years. Stuart’s solo Blessed (2007), in which Camacho is washed away by the rain as a lonely holidaymaker on his sunny island, remains unforgettable. Now the two of them explore togetherness, with scenographer Gaëtan Rusquet as a third performer on stage. Things aren’t exactly running smoothly, and some foundations were built on sand. But even though things can break apart at times, humour and tenderness also have a place here – as does a song by PJ Harvey, hoping that “one day we’ll float [and] take life as it comes”.
