How to represent the acute general overwhelmedness in view of everything that currently threatens, burns or goes wrong? Viennese choreographer Saskia Hölbling dares to try with this trio. She traces the contours of our emotional and rational strains between apparent normality and an increasingly fragmented reality with dance and music, texts and digital video animations. This isn’t a pessimistic swan song, though, but an artistic attempt to cope with adversity and Hölbling’s contribution to a common effort to prevent us from falling into the abyss. The social perturbation is not obscured but at the same time fragments of desire discourages an atmosphere of alarmist panic – both in terms of everyday life and with a view to our environments, which have become as fragile as they are absurd.
