Boundlessness is a feeling, and it’s what Clara Furey wants to stimulate. The Canadian dancer, choreographer, musician and actor takes her audience to spheres of cosmic eroticism. In her new piece, the four individuals (including Furey herself) dance – their bodies “unarmoured”, i.e. without the shield of everyday social conventions and gender attributions – into the vastness of inner oceans in a direct encounter with their desires. The quartet is an existential experiment in continuation of earlier works such as Cosmic Love and Dog Rising. Fluid, carnal swirls of movement and sound trigger emotional waves that can spark off fantasies of boundlessness. The “waves of sea and love” thus break against the cliffs of our severe and torn present.
