Anyone who was bullied as a child will probably understand the impact of such exclusion. This is exactly what happened to Janis Joplin, and the songs of the rock icon reflect the pain of these humiliations: for example Cry Baby, Piece of My Heart or Down on Me. In a collaboration with the Salzburg-based company BODHI PROJECT dance company, renowned Belgian choreographer Michèle Anne De Mey has created an empathetic and emotionally charged dance about community, dependence and emancipation, that juxtaposes the desire to belong with the fear of being excluded.
