“The relationship between three lovers, the camera being one of them.” That is what Samira Elagoz agreed with Cade Moga, with whom he shares the screen in this masterful, four-hour film performance. But his “trans romance at the end of the world”, for which in 2022 Elagoz received the Silver Lion at the Biennale Teatro in Venice, evolved into much more than that: an odyssey of the digital age, a time capsule of the pandemic, the artist’s farewell letter to his femininity as well as a radical dissection of everything we thought we knew about sex, hormones and the body.
