Manhattan, 1994. South African dancer Robyn Orlin watches homeless people seeking shelter in refrigerator packaging on the Lower East Side. She struggles to find a working space and begins to develop a solo in such a cardboard box: in a corner the sky surrenders - unplugging archival journeys … # 1 (for nadia ❣️)... These days, Orlin is cele­brated all over the world, including in Vienna, for controversial pieces titled We Must Eat Our Suckers With the Wrapper On, for example. She has now passed on her cardboard solo to Ivorian dancer Nadia Beugré, whose own works also focus on politics and self­ empowerment.
