CLASSICS

ImPulsTanz brings notable productions and audience favourites from past festivals back to the stage. From groundbreaking pieces that once set new trends in contemporary dance, e.g. Jérôme Bel’s Jérôme Bel or DD Dorvillier’s No Change, or ”freedom is a psycho-kinetic Skill” (2005) to more recent performances that already enjoy cult status like Dada Masilo’s Swan Lake or Ivo Dimchev’s Selfie Concert.

In 2024, we can look forward to a reunion with three outstanding productions. These include (M)imosa from 2011 by and with Cecilia Bengolea, François Chaignaud, Marlene Monteiro Freitas and Trajal Harrell. In addition, the winners of the ImPulsTanz – Young Choreographers’ Award of 2022, Davi Pontes and Wallace Ferreira, return to the mumok – Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien with their award-winning performance Repertório N2 and thus to the place where their ImPulsTanz journey began, where Eszter Salamon will present her brilliant homage to John Cage.
