MALIKA FANKHA (AT/CH) / KAROL TYMINSKI (DE/PL) / KLANGFORUM WIEN (AT)
Stanislaw Lem Turns 100: Performance and Music move Outerspace.
Lem’s work is more than ever a challenge for contemporary art. ImPulsTanz and Klangforum Wien have commissioned composers Wojtek Blecharz and Mikołaj Laskowski, as well as choreographers Malika Fankha and Karol Tymiński, to give the great author a contemporary sound, to think him in movement. Malika Fankha’s Luminosa I is a utopian ritual that emphasizes non-technological achievements and celebrates a sense of belonging among different species. In SETI, Karol Tymiński, as a space guide, seeks a common language with an alien civilization in a playful game of approaching and distancing.
Duration: 110 Minutes
Cooperation with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute, a cultural institution operating under the auspices of the Polish Ministry of Culture, National Heritage and Sport. The project is part of the Institute's Lem and Thinking About the Future core programme.
