Since 2017, the Public Moves series as part of the ImPulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival invites people to inclusive free dance classes in public spaces every summer.
In keeping with the motto ‘for all ages, all bodies, all genders, all levels’, everyone is welcome to these free dance classes.
The support of the Licht in Dunkel innovation fund not only enables us to continue to break down barriers in these dance classes, but also to bring the format to Klagenfurt, Linz and Salzburg for the first time in 2024. Two barrier-free classes are held there every day for 11 days.
The sessions will take place on the following dates:
30 May – 9 June 2024: Klagenfurt, Landhaushof
13 June – 23 June 2024: Linz, Lentos Kunstmuseum
27 June – 7 July 2024: Salzburg, Museum der Moderne Mönchsberg
This year, for the first time, we will be able to offer at least one session per location with ÖGS interpreters to make the classes accessible to people with hearing impairments.
The funding will allow us to increase our contribution to Hunger for Art and Culture to 50 workshop spots and 1,400 performance tickets per year in 2024.
We will also be able to offer 50 Shake the Break workshop places for socially disadvantaged children and young people for the first time.
