When do the performances of ImPulsTanz take place?
On 17th April 2020 the Austrian Federal Government announced further steps regarding its measures against COVID-19. Those measures as well as the international situation, the continuing massive travel restrictions and unpredictable visa problems, force us to take a painful but nevertheless clear step: The 37th edition of the ImPulsTanz – Vienna International Dance Festival from 9th July to 9th August 2020 cannot take place in its originally planned and later adapted form. ImPulsTanz 2021 will take place from 15th July to 15th August.
Where do the performances take place?
ImPulsTanz performances take place amongst others at Burgtheater, Akademietheater, Kasino am Schwarzenbergplatz, Schauspielhaus as well as at mumok – Museum moderner Kunst Stiftung Ludwig Wien and Leopold Museum.
When will the programme be released?
Selected performances will already be published at the end of April of the respective year. The entire performance programme will be released in June. Until then, there will be regular updates and previews about the performance programme on our website.
When does the ticket sale begin?
By the end of April the pre-sale starts already for selected performances. The pre-sale for all further productions starts in the beginning of June.
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets can be purchased online, at our box offices and by phone. Detailed information will follow with the release of the performance programme in June.
How much do the tickets cost?
Ticket prices vary depending on the performance, venue, duration and category. All prices can be found in the detailed description of the respective performance.
Is it possible to return tickets?
It is only possible to get a refund if a performance was cancelled.
Otherwise it is not possible to return tickets.
Are there any discounted tickets or a festival pass?
Students, apprentices, recruits as well as conscientious objectors performing community service (<27), people over 60 and people with physical handicaps with a handicapped ID get a discount (approx. -15 %) on performance tickets at the ImPulsTanz day box offices, online and the ImPulsTanz call centre. A 65 % discount on tickets for wheelchair users and accompanying persons requires an advanced booking by phone at +43.1.523 55 58-19 or email (at least one day prior to the performance), alternatively tickets can also be purchased at our day box offices or (after registration as wheelchair user by e-mail) via our website. Owners of the DER STANDARD Subscribers Card or the Ö1Club card receive (at our day box offices) an ImPulsTanz partner membership free of charge. With this partner membership, you get a 10 % discount for up to two persons on all ImPulsTanz productions. Please note that the reduction can neither be claimed at the evening box offices nor retrospectively. Owners of the AK AktivKarte receive a 10 % discount on the standard price ticket. The AK member's discount is not combinable with other discounts. ImPulsTanz offers a limited ticket quota per performance for holders of the „Kulturpass“. Kulturpass holders get – depending on availability – one ticket for a maximum of three different performances of the ImPulsTanz performance programme 2020.

Is it possible to buy tickets at the evening box offices when a performance is sold out in advance?
It is possible to buy tickets at the evening box office at the respective venue in case of a sold out performance only in rare cases. We strongly recommend to buy tickets in advance.
Is it possible to attend the performance after it has already started?
In order not to affect the performers, it is usually not possible to attend the performance after it has already started.
Are there any performances with an age restriction?
If there is an age restriction regarding a performance, it will be announced in the performance catalogue and on our website.
