PROGRAMME
In 1981 Scott Wells discovered the pleasure of contact improvisation shortly after becoming obsessed with the struggles of modern dance technique. He stuck with both, got an MFA in dance and still directs his San Francisco based company which he started with Kathleen Hermesdorf. Scott Wells has received choreographic awards in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and from the American Dance Festival. In 2002 he was named by Ballettanz as one of the year's outstanding choreographers and acclaimed as San Francisco's Dancer/Athlete by San Francisco's Focus Magazine. He is known especially for his dynamic partnering.
In 2004 Scott Wells has taught at the festival for Dance and Technology in Ankara, will teach this year at the Festival for Interactive Physics in Toronto, at the San Francisco Summer Dance Festival, followed by Budapest and Germany.
