José Navas started dancing in Venezuela. After moving to New York he worked with Randy Warshaw, Stephen Petronio, Lucinda Childs and David Zambrano among others. In his current homebase Montréal he worked with Marie Chouinard and William Douglas and successfully established his own company „Flak“. The excellent performer danced at all relevant European and American festivals and theatres and has been teaching at P.A.R.T.S., Klapstuk, Springdance etc..
