Lukas Kötz works as a set designer in the fields of theatre and performance. He studied stage design at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and spent an exchange semester in 2020 at the Kyoto University of the Arts in Japan. Through subtle spatial arrangements, often based on the specific site conditions, he seeks to create multifaceted spaces that act as independent entities. His works have been shown, among others, at the Volksbühne Berlin and at Tanzquartier Wien, often in collaboration with various artists. In 2023, he received a one-year studio scholarship from the Academy and a TQW training scholarship to support his artistic practice and research.
