Kimyan Law is a Congolese-Austrian musician, producer, filmmaker, and painter – an interdisciplinary artist who incorporates African instruments, patterns, and influences into his music, achieving a rare organic and human quality amidst cold electronics.
Deep explorations of his Congolese roots have led him to create complex mosaics of ancient imagery and sound fused with modern aesthetics.
Through his live concerts, the songs and their stories transport listeners through colourful sonic landscapes and diverse timbres. With drumming, sampling, and live performance, the music unfolds “in the moment”, giving the concerts a warm, organic quality in contrast to the often-formulaic approaches to electronic music performance.
