Viní Ventania Femme Queen, Visual Artist, Actress, and Performer, alongside her sister, Legendary Mother Vitória, builds the Irmãs Brasil legacy.
"I learned to tame my horse, discovered my trot by walking in Ballroom culture in the Runway European category, and researching and transmitting Brazilian Walk – a Brazilian and Latin walk – creating fictions of myself and my healing processes with each battle in the Kiki and mainstream scene. I met the Ballroom at an Iconic House of Xtravaganza ball, and that day I heard the call of the community. I just needed to find a family. First, Cosmos came and gave birth to me as a comet, then I was welcomed into the Iconic House of Xtravaganza, who recognised my blood – the fate of the doll. I'm in the Ballroom to present my ghosts and give my testimony. I'm Legendary, and I was Mother of the House of Cosmos, a house founded in Rio de Janeiro in the Kiki scene. I'm currently 007 in the Kiki and mainstream scenes, and I've travelled internationally to France, Switzerland, and Chile!”
Irmãs Brasil are twin travesti artists hailing from a rodeo cowboy family in Amparo, São Paulo. Their artistic expression is shaped by the contrasting worlds of their upbringing and their experiences as queer individuals. Their work blends dance, theatre, and performance, challenging heteronormative and colonial norms through a focus on the body and its transformative potential.
Their artistic practice is a testament to resilience and survival, exploring themes of escape, healing, and self-narration. They aim to create a space within the art world to celebrate marginalised existences and resist erasure.
