BIOGRAPHY

Petra Ried completed her ballet training at the Vienna Conservatory and studied movement and sports, as well as history and social studies. She has participated in various productions both in Austria and abroad (Austria, Germany, Finnland, Norway, Portugal) as a dancer and acrobat, including performances at the Vienna Chamber Opera in The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, The Marriage of Figaro, and The Prince of Orlowski, as well as in the Raphael Concert Magic Flute.

At the same time, she began working as a course instructor in the fields of dance, fitness, and health, as well as a choreographer for various institutions, including VHS, Novartis, and VDLÖ, and for schools in Austria (AHS, BHS, VS, and primary education). She is also a key figure in dance education, serving as a multiplier in the Department of Dance, a state officer for the Dance Department, and the organiser of the Dance in Schools event (Bildungsdirektion Vienna).

She has completed additional training and professional development in the areas of health, bodywork, and dance, including classical Pilates, Hatha Yoga, Spiraldynamik® (Diploma Level Intermediate), Inferno-Hot-Pilates I & II, Nordic Walking, and Zumba Fitness.

Petra Ried has worked as a lecturer and coordinator in the Department of Dance at the Institute of Sports Science in Vienna. She is an educator specialising in movement, sports, history, and social studies. Together with Astrid Weger-Purkhart, she leads the advanced training programme and university course Dance in Schools
