Julischka Stengele is an award-winning transdisciplinary artist, performance maker, writer, curator and educator based in Vienna. Specializing in performative, site-responsive and conceptual formats, Julischka enjoys creating cross-genre real live encounters as a form of art inside and outside the studio. She has taught workshops and seminars for example at DanceHouse Lefkosia, the Music and Arts University of Vienna or the Department for Site-Specific Art at the University of Applied Arts Vienna, as well within self-organized, non-academic, queer and/or feminist contexts. Julischka’s work has been presented in galleries, museums, festivals, theaters, cinemas, the public as well as the domestic space in over 25 countries worldwide. She has won several awards, including the ImPulsTanz TURBO Residency (2019), the H13 Lower Austria Prize for Performance (2020), the State Grant for Fine Arts (2021) and the Neptune Award for her performance film Bodies of Water (2021).
