Clélia Colonna (PT/FR)

BIOGRAPHY

Clélia Colonna is a vocalist, performer and a pedagogue based in Portugal. Born in Paris, she studied Applied Arts in ENSAAMA Olivier de Serres, Art & Digital Media in Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne and followed various training programmes in performance and singing. Her quest for forgotten sounds and harmonies led her from Corsican curvy roads (leading to singers in isolated villages) to Poland, Ukraine, Russia and Sicily. Throughout the years, she learned traditional polyphonic singing as well as other vocal techniques (carnatic singing, extended vocal techniques, pop). Since 2006, she works as a performer and researcher in the field of voice. She worked with Georg Blaschke, Inferno/Ewa Bankowska, Veza Fernandes, Philippe Genty, Peter Jakober, Raúl Maia, Ben J. Riepe, Charlotta Ruth. She is currently part of the vienna-based collective cowbirds, the porto-based trio COBRACORAL and works with Mala Voadora.
