Charmaine LeBlanc is a vocalist/ composer/ director whose multi-disciplinary skills have been sought after for dance, theatre, film, circus arts and television productions. An award winning composer, she has written and performed over twenty soundtracks for productions that have taken her all over the world. She has written music and collaborated with The Cirque du Soleil, Le Théatre Gallelio, Les Sept Doigts de la Main and Les Gens D’R’. She has also worked for some of the world's most known choreographers and dance companies from Canada, the United States, and Europe. Some of her collaborations have been with Danse Sauvage (Canada), Risa Steinberg of The Jose Limon Company (New York), Gerald Casel of the Stephen Petronio Company (New York), Milton Myers of The Alvin Ailey Company (New York), Les Ballets du Nord (France), Susanne Linke (Germany) and Vibeke Muaysa (Denmark).
Charmaine is becoming more known for her direction of multi-disciplinary performances that place dance at the centre of her work. Her most recent piece was the last part of a triptych that featured eight of the country’s leading dancers and a team of prize-winning collaborators. "Terminus" played to sold-out houses in Montreal in November 2012 and was a co-production with Danse Cité. Films of her work directed by Marlene Millar have been presented at International film festivals as well as on Bravo.
She is the co-founder and artistic director of The Red Rabbit Project.
