Georg Blaschke / M.A.P. Vienna (AT)
A vivid, sensual sanctuary that takes the form of flowing and ephemeral architecture, thereby creating the Fluid Theatre of Austrian choreographer Georg Blaschke. Permanent movement, undressing and reconfiguration are essential components of this liquid habitat jointly devised by four performers, a visual artist and a lighting designer as a dancing “nest in the barn of a flood of images”. Before the eyes of the audience that which is otherwise just pretence transforms into skin, and the skin becomes a sensual metaphor for the actions of stroking, folding, peeling and covering. The visionary space of the Fluid Theatre does not tolerate standstill because it feeds off the body in action, off an intensive sound installation and the fleeting beauty of light.
