In this lecture demonstration, Lenio Kaklea, examines issues of dance modernity, feminism, the configuration of the urban landscape in European peripheries, the dance academia and the art market today. Through an autobiographical narrative, she exposes the personal, political and artistic challenges she was confronted with as a woman, a dancer and a choreographer. This lecture demonstration takes the form of a solo manifesto in which the choreographer deals with burning issues such as craftsmanship, flexibility, new work conditions and the emerging social order in the arts combining performed historical repertories, choreographed material and storytelling.
