Movement qualities used in artistic ways
Since 1995 the DIN A 13 dance company is one of the internationally leading mixed-abled dance companies. The uniqueness of their dance productions is characterised by the focus on the person in her/his physical appearance and specific qualities of movement are used in artistic ways. The provocative choreographic images of the productions represent the diversity of artists of different physical appearances, people of different cultures, nationalities and languages.
A body is a living sign of its culture, and its local and architectural habitat. To what extent and in what form this assumption is reflected on the plane of movement of an individual, is the starting point for the workshop and the artistic process, we want to explore.
At the beginning of the workshop, we will introduce specific techniques and approaches of mixed-abled work, followed by developing small choreographies. This interaction takes place in the studio as well as in the outdoor areas.
Thus the examination of body and landscape is an essential element in the artistic approach of the mixed-abled work. In general, the question is how the movement, its quality and emotional expression, change through the influence of different places.
This workshop is addressed to dancers, choreographers, dance teachers and interested people with and without physical peculiarities.
