Rosas danst Rosas

This piece of dance history is still as breathtaking as 34 years ago, when its choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker was still at the beginning of her world career. Rosas danst Rosas – original subtitle Five Movements for Four Women – leveragted the Belgian to her international breakthrough. This autumn the brilliant and provocative masterpiece will return to Vienna: with a new, young cast reviving the perfect dance of the original version. With a quick pulse beat, that drives exact movements towards masterly repetitions, nervous whizzing  and aggressive falling, four women put their feminine power and sensitivity onto the Odeon stage. After the world premiere 1983 those four cool "Rosas" were admired as "Béjart's rebellious daughters" – questionable late effects in the music business included: in 2011 pop diva Beyoncé used unasked material of Thierry De Mey's screen adaptation of Rosas danst Rosas for her Clip Countdown.
