Homage to Kazuo Ohno

Dance Archive Network has the pleasure of presenting the exhibition of Kazuo Ohno’s archival resources from the Kazuo Ohno Dance Studio. Ohno was born in 1906 and trained for the modern dance in his youth. In the 1960s he created Butoh with Tatsumi Hijikata. He appeared on stage even in 2007 and passed away at the age of 103 in 2010.The exhibition illustrates his life and works, featuring the numerous images from 1977 to 2007, the historical footage of his signature piece, Admiring La Argentina and his last solo, Hana (Flower), from 2001. It also presents his costumes as well as his own drawings and text.

Free admission!
