The Norwegian-German choreographer Rosalind Goldberg presents the reinvention of the human body in her dance solo “MIT”. MIT is a female character developed by Goldberg together with the stunning dancer Anne-Mareike Hess and her other collaborators in sound, light and costume: with screaming yellow hair she looks like a creature from a faraway fictional world in her rustling clothes. This visitor has arrived in our reality and acts somewhat strangely in her calm manner. She appears to be guided by invisible powers, which nevertheless shape the air that we breath. Sprung from the transgressive imagination of her creator, MIT demonstrates in her solo dance that it only takes a few minor changes, a tiny variation in temperature of our behaviour, to make us seem like aliens – but still, MIT is oh so familiar.
