What Remains Of What Has Passed
A woman in a colourful suit is standing there, with her eyes goggling and her mouth opening in a silent cry like in Munch’s painting. An apparition. Possibly an illusion. What remains of what has passed? A perception, a memory, a presence infinitely far away. The solo “o que fica do que passa” by the Portuguese choreographic duo Teresa Silva and Filipe Pereira conjures up magical and melancholy situations on the stage: a mysterious, sparkling light show, enigmatic scenes and enchanting sounds that evaporate at the moment they come into being. Bearing transience in mind in this piece not only results in sentimentality but in the insight that the inconceivable, with its poetic power, has a value in its own right.
