Now don’t you worry – this ain’t Günter Grass doing yet another poem, this time a pseudo haiku on art, it’s simply a bunch of workshop titles piling up. Actually, they do make traces of sense in their neighbourhood, once in a while, but certainly these artistic pastimes would gain by curious bodies and agile spirits joining them. Or as they say up North: The Disco Is Wide Open.
As ongoing as the workshop booking frenzy and just as versatile and lively is Ljubljana’s current CoFestival. Not only does this festival unite three festivals (where else did that happen before) but also the traditional presentation of existing works with impromptu works in progress, games, actions of research, spontaneous screenings, instantaneous kissing. Or as Rok Vevar puts it: "It has been our aspiration to shift the festival programme from presentation to creation and exchange. We have been striving to free the dance from manufacture, give it time and to make sure we had a great time as well.“ Art and leisure, so to say? Find out yourself in Ljubljana!
Sebastian Nübling: "Oasis or Blur?"
Simon Stephens: "Pulp."

it would be a breeze to transfer the initial trick to the ImPulsTanz performances of 2012 but that would be boring, right? And this just can’t really be said about the programme with its more than 50 works. Distributed disparately over a couple of strands (eg 8:tension, Choreographic Platform Austria, Prix Jardin d’Europe, WildWalk), premieres and reprises, Fabre’s and Dimchev’s, Lacey’s und Schubot’s are gathering witin. Downright Country AND Western, one could say. Just as above: please approach with no fear, join if you will. The Club, for instance. But you are grown up, right, so look for yourself:
