„It‘s a very hungry art form, dance. It does eat you.“ Margaret Illmann questioned by Christoph Winkler

„People have the power.“ Mark Tompkins chanting Patti Smith

„Jeden - dva - tri - styri!“
Ivana Gottliebová challenged by Kristyna Lhotáková & Ladislav Soukup

An illustruous 78 year old lady partnering with a choreographer half a decade younger than herself, a performer singer in his fragile state after the performance is over, and a primaballerina daring her return on stage after a severe knee operation ... The Real Life (TM) - on stage at ImPulsTanz this week. And both press and audience internationally paid enthusiastic tribute to choreography maniac Christoph Winkler from Germany (tender 20 works conceived within 4 years), dancer/musician duo Lhotáková/Soukup from Czechia (both at Odeon on August 3 + 5) as well as performance legend Mark Tompkins (Volkstheater, August 4). Headlines and Features in the News section of have the details.

Meanwhile in the movement ridden halls of Arsenal:

„Walking“ by Gustavo Miranda (and you thought life goes on anyway...)
„Popping/Locking“ by Storm (sounds kinda naughty, but is hip hop dance, really)
„Free Style Jazz“ by Geraldine Armstrong („We bring our bodies and let them sway to some beautiful music - that will ease our minds and tingle our soul.“)

Many much more on

Food for thoughts instead for you, who you dance in your head every once in a while:
